The heart of the galaxy

She wore the galaxy around her,
Draped herself with the stars.
She was the night in all her splendor.
And how he wished he owned her,
How he wished morning never came,
That forever he could hold her.
But she was too great to fathom,
Too beautiful to last forever.
She wore not, her heart on her sleeve,
For fear one day, you having to leave.
She, thus, gave you the moon,
For she can't entrust her heart so soon.
Turn your eyes, lover boy to the moon come every night,
In awe of you, one day she will over come her every fright.
That if you could love the sky for the moon set apart,
You could love her, the night, and own her dark heart.
And she will trust you, boy, soon enough for sure,
And one day she will gather you in the galaxy,
you will be a sleepless night's cure.
